(6/7) Map and Compass Class @ Lake Sammamish
Join us for a Map and Compass Class at the Ballard Locks! We’ll send you an email with additional information 48 hours prior to the class, but here are some additional details in the meantime:
Class Details:
The class is from 10 AM - 2:00 PM PT
Please arrive no later than 9:45 AM to fill out the Liability Waiver.
Pre-Requisites:
Be able to walk on a trail on mildly hilly terrain up to 2-3 miles.
Participants should dress appropriately for weather and conditions.
All participants will need to complete a liability waiver prior to class. We will provide this form.
Must be 12+. All minors must accompanied by an adult, and must have a legal guardian sign a liability form.
What we’ll provide:
Every participant will be provided with a laminated Map, a compass, and a handout. The Map and Compass will be collected by the guide at the end of class.
What to Bring:
Hiking/walking shoes, clothing appropriate for extended periods outside, rain jacket (weather dependent), a full water bottle, food/snacks, sun screen, daypack (optional), camp chair if needed, reading glasses if needed.
If you’d like to take notes, please be sure to bring a notepad and a pen or pencil.
